Frequently Asked Questions

JobLense is a free Chrome extension built for recent graduates. When you view a job posting, it shows whether the role looks entry-level, whether the company looks legitimate, how likely the posting is to be a scam, and about how long the application will take, so you can decide before you start applying.

JobLense is designed to work on job sites like LinkedIn and Indeed, and on company career pages.

JobLense looks at each posting for potential red flags and shows a scam likelihood rating (for example, “Low”) along with a check on whether the company looks legitimate. It’s meant to help you spot risky or misleading postings, not to guarantee that a posting is safe. Always do your own research before sharing personal information.

JobLense is designed to collect only what it needs to run the extension’s features. Documents you add to the notebook are used only to support your applications, and we don’t sell your personal data. Before launch we’ll publish a full privacy policy explaining exactly what is stored and how to delete it.

We’d love to hear from them. Career centers and university programs interested in helping their students job search with more clarity can reach out through our website. We’re always open to conversations about how JobLense can support students and recent grads.

Add JobLense to Chrome, then browse job listings as you normally would. When you open a posting, JobLense checks it and shows a quick summary in a popup. Click “View full analysis” to see the full breakdown.

Yes. JobLense is a free Chrome extension.

JobLense reviews the details of a posting, such as the job title, the responsibilities, and the stated requirements, to judge whether the role is truly open to recent grads. It then labels the posting, for example “Likely Entry-Level,” so you don’t waste time on mislabeled listings. Its results are an estimate to help you decide, not a final verdict.

The built-in notebook lets you keep your resume, cover letter, and other important application documents in one place. JobLense shows whether the documents a posting asks for are ready (for example, “3/3”), so you can apply faster and with less hassle.
